Bites Local Ltd provides an online marketplace and WhatsApp-based ordering system for independent restaurants, for a monthly subscription fee and a commission of 5% on food sales made through Bites Local. Customers also pay Bites Local a delivery charge, where delivery is chosen, and a platform fee. Where a restaurant delivers an order with its own driver, the delivery charge for that order is paid to the restaurant.
Current restaurant pricing is shown on our Pricing page. All prices are shown exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise; VAT is added at the applicable rate at checkout or on your invoice.
Customers ordering through Bites Local pay the restaurant's own food price, plus a flat platform fee of £1 per order and, where delivery is chosen, a delivery charge banded by distance. Both are shown separately on the order before it is placed. The current fee and delivery bands are published on our How our fees work page and form part of these terms.
We do not add any markup to a restaurant's menu prices. Fees may be changed from time to time, and the version published on the fees page at the time an order is placed is the version that applies to that order.
Where a delivery is fulfilled by a courier arranged through Bites Local, the majority of the delivery fee is paid to the driver, with the balance covering dispatch, tracking and support. Where a restaurant delivers using its own drivers, the delivery arrangement is between the restaurant and the customer, and the deduction and settlement terms agreed with that restaurant apply.
You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you're a consumer entering into this contract at a distance, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of signing up for a full refund, provided the service hasn't already been substantially delivered at your request.
We'll provide and maintain your Bites Local page and WhatsApp ordering system with reasonable care and skill, and aim to keep the service available, though we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
