The price on the menu is the restaurant's own price. Your bill adds two things, both shown before you send your order: a delivery charge if you want it brought to you, and a flat £1 platform fee.
Our promise: no markup on menu prices, and no fee on your bill that you haven’t seen before you order.
The big marketplace apps take up to 30% of every order before the restaurant sees a penny. That cut has to come from somewhere, so menu prices go up, portions get smaller, or the restaurant simply makes less on food it worked hard to cook.
Bites Local charges restaurants a flat 5% on food sales instead, so they can keep their menu prices fair. What you pay us is small and clearly labelled.
A flat £1 on every order, whatever its size. It helps us bring you the best local independent restaurants, and it is shown on your bill before you send your order.
Collection is always free. If you want your food brought to you, the delivery charge is based on how far the driver has to travel, because a five mile run is not the same job as a five minute one. Charging a flat fee either overcharges your neighbours or underpays the driver going the distance. Add your postcode when you order and your exact delivery charge appears on your bill.

The majority of your delivery charge goes straight to the driver. What is left contributes to dispatch, tracking and support.
Your courier is booked as soon as the kitchen confirms how long your food will take, timed to arrive when it’s ready, so it isn’t left waiting on the counter, and you get a live tracking link on WhatsApp once it’s on its way.
Here is a £35 order, delivered around two and a half miles, with nothing hidden.
On that order, the restaurant receives £33.25: the £35.00 food price less our 5% commission. On a marketplace app charging 30%, the same kitchen would see around £24.50 for exactly the same food.
Fees are shown as you will be charged them. Where VAT applies to our fees, it is included in the amount displayed.
